Beenex: AI with Intention

Some startup stories begin with a pitch deck. This one started with a chance meeting, a skipped class, and a conversation that never really ended.

When Javier Sanchez and Thomas Nguyen met at a Google developer event in Miami, they didn’t know they were about to become cofounders. They just knew they got each other. While everyone else sat through sessions, they spent hours in the lobby talking tech, business, and big ideas. “All of a sudden, Thomas and I were understanding each other,” Javier said. “I could jump from here to here to here, and he got me.”

That connection became the foundation of BillulloNex (operating as BeeNex).

BeeNex is an AI Systems Studio that builds production-grade, backend-heavy AI systems (agents, retrieval, and automation) engineered for governance, auditability, and security. Correctness, compliance, and long-term ownership matter more than demos.

The road wasn’t clean or comfortable. They pivoted hard into AI before it was trendy, built prototypes overnight, and walked away from misaligned investors. At one point, they were bootstrapping, rebuilding from scratch, and learning the hard way. “We built like we were still in a garage,” Javier said. “We don't quit.”

That resilience is what eventually led them to Groundswell Startups.

After relocating back to Melbourne and searching for momentum, Javier discovered Groundswell and decided to take a chance. It helped them tighten their delivery process: Clearer scopes, stronger engineering rigor, and governance-first deployments clients could trust. The community gave them space to focus, people to learn from, and the breathing room they needed to grow intentionally. From there, BeeNex scaled fast, average project sizes grew 20x, contracts moved into six figures, and Thomas was able to leave his full-time job to go all in.

But for Javier and Thomas, success isn’t about hype. It’s about impact. “We really care about the people behind the technology,” Javier shared. “Our technology has to enable people, not create new risk.”

Today, BeeNex is focused on building meaningful, values-aligned tech and choosing projects that genuinely help people. Or, as Javier put it best: “We’re not the loudest. We just keep showing up, and we ship.”

And sometimes, all it takes is the right community at the right moment to make that possible.
